Checking Engine Oil Level

Never operate the engine if the oil level is above maximum level mark (F) or below ADD level mark (E) on oil level dipstick (A). Operating the engine under these conditions causes a loss of power, excessive fuel consumption, overheating and damage to the engine.

Check oil level with the cold engine, preferably in the morning before operating the tractor.

  1. Park tractor on level terrain.

  2. Shut engine OFF.

  3. Wait 45 minutes.1

  4. Remove oil level dipstick (A).

Insert oil level dipstick (A) completely.

  7. Check oil level as follows:

    1. Hold oil level dipstick (A) horizontally.

    2. The oil level should be in region (D), between ADD mark (E) and maximum mark (F).

    3. The oil level should be preferably within region (B).

    4. If oil level is within hatched area (D), this indicates that the engine crankcase is full.

  8. If the oil level is below the ADD mark (F), add the specified engine oil via fill port (G).

See the correct oil in Fuels, Lubricants, and Coolant Section.

1 This step is not required if you check the oil level in the morning before starting the engine.
