Replacing Primary and Secondary Air Filter (Safety)
Replace primary air filter if any of the following
events occurs, whichever first:

If damages are found during the inspections.

After three times cleaning1
-
Every year.

Open the hood.

Release locks (A).
-
Remove cover (B).
Depending on tractor model, cover (B) may be located on
right-hand side or left-hand side of tractor engine and have two or
three locks (A).

Remove primary filter (C) turning counterclockwise.

Clean off dirt from internal housing with damp cloth taking
care not to damage secondary filter.
Remove secondary filter only if you are replacing
it. Never try to clean secondary filter, always replace it with a
new one. If it is necessary to replace the secondary filter, install
a new filter immediately to prevent dust entering the air intake system.

Remove secondary filter (D).

Thoroughly clean inner part of filter housing with a damp cloth.

Install new secondary filter (D), and new primary filter (C).
Use only John Deere recommended engine air filters.
After installing primary filter (C), turn clockwise to
secure in place.

Install cover (B) with dust discharge valve pointing downward
and make sure locks (A) are firmly seated.

Close hood.
1 After
each cleansing and inspection, mark filter with a pen to control how
often filter was cleaned.
