Choosing Correct Ballast

Choose the correct ballast to obtain a wheel slippage of between 8 and 12%. Use no more ballast than necessary and reduce ballast for light work.

Selecting the Correct Gear

Always drive in the highest possible gear, at reduced engine speed.

Choose a gear so that the engine speed (A) without load drops 150 to 250 rpm when the tractor is operating and the engine is under load (B).

For light work, reduce engine speed to below 2000 rpm. Select a gear so that engine speed drops 200-300 rpm while operating.
