Calculated Tractor Ground Speeds

Speeds should be selected so as to avoid constant engine overload.

Ground speeds with engine running at nominal rpm are indicated on the following page.

To determine ground speed in relation to engine rpm, proceed as follows:

Desired engine speed

.............. =

Conversion factor

2100 rpm

Conversion factor, multiplied by the ground speed indicated in attached table, gives the ground speed and rpm desired.

Example:

Ground speed at 2100 rpm, in accordance with speed chart: B3 = 10.1 km/h

Desired engine speed: 1400 rpm

1400 rpm

.............. =

0,67

2100 rpm

8.1 km/h x 0.67 = 5.3 km/h

To determine engine speed at a defined ground speed, proceed as follows:

Ground speed desired

.............. =

Conversion factor

Chart ground speed

Conversion factor multiplied with rated speed (rpm) returns desired engine rpm value.

Example:

5 km/h

.............. =

0,48

10.1 km/h

2100 rpm x 0.48 = 1008 rpm
