As far as possible, angles (a) and (b) at the universal joints
should be the same at both ends of the (Cardan) driveshaft.
Where this is frequently not possible (e.g.: with many sharp
turns) it is recommended to use a drive shaft (cardan) with fixed
speed (cv joint).
The two schematic drawings do not show any guards on the
(Cardan) driveshaft. Use of guards is mandatory when PTO is engaged.
When using "plug-in" type (Cardan) drive shafts,
yokes on either end of intermediate shaft must be aligned in the same
level.
