Engine Ground Point
Periodically check the condition and tightness of
the engine ground cable (A).
CQ294954-UN-04DEC13
John Deere engines are seated on rubber mounts which, as
well as reducing noise levels, also electrically insulate the engine.
Nevertheless, it is necessary that the engine has a good ground connection.
For this reason the ground cable (A) exists.
If this cable is not in perfect working order then the flow
of excess current produced by the alternator may be redirected to
the engine bearings, causing severe damage to the engine.
