Important Instructions Regarding Alternator

The alternator is equipped with a voltage regulator.

Connections
• Red battery cable (A).
• Black cable (B) to hour meter and battery charge warning light (instrument panel).

If it is necessary for the engine to operate without a battery (starting up the engine by means of an auxiliary battery), do not operate the engine above 1000 rpm. Engage some electrical systems (lights) while the engine is running.

When the battery is removed and the engine is started up by means of an auxiliary battery, in which case the loose current carrying cable must be insulated to prevent damage to the alternator and regulator.

Never short circuit or bypass the ground of the alternator or regulator with the engine running.

Connect battery charger with correct polarity. If connections are inverted (+) and (-), the rectifying diodes will be immediately destroyed.

Before carrying out any electrical welding jobs on the tractor, disconnect both alternator cables.

Connect ground terminal of welding apparatus directly to the part being welded.

Before carrying out repairs on electrical system, disconnect battery ground cable (-). This will prevent risk of a short circuit.
