Changing ZF Front-Wheel Drive Axle Oil

Change oil of front axle and final drives should be changed after the first 100 hours of operation. Thereafter, it should be changed every 750 hours of operation.

   A - Differential Oil Filler Neck

   B - Differential Drain Plug

   C - Final Drive Oil Filler Neck and Drain Plug

   Park tractor on a plain surface to ensure correct oil level when you fill up.

2. Each front axle final drive has an oil filler neck and drain plug (C).

   Remove plugs (A) and (B) and drain oil from front axle differential.

3. Remove plug (C) from final drive filler neck and drain. Turn wheels so that filler neck and drain (C) is in six o'clock position and drain final drive oil on both sides of front axle.

4. After completing final drive draining, turn wheels until filler neck and drain (C) is in three o'clock position.

5. Install drain plug (B).

6. Add oil recommended in Section (Fuel, Lubricants and Coolant) to differential through filler neck (A) and final drives through filler neck and drain (C) in quantity recommended in Section (Specifications—Capacities).

7. Reinstall plugs (A) and (C).

Check oil level 30 minutes after filling. Oil flows very slowly through bearings and axle housings. Refill if necessary.
