Checking the Brakes
CQ294840-UN-21NOV13
With engine shut off, check correct operation of hydraulic
brakes.
-
Individually pump left- and right-hand brakes (A) several times.
Both pedals should present considerable resistance. If this is not
the case, contact your John Deere dealer.
-
Ensure that brake pedals do not descend to the limit of their
travel within 10 seconds after they have first been engaged. If this
happens or if one pedal descends faster than the other, see your John
Deere dealer.
-
Lock pedals together through lock (B) and engage both pedals
at the same time. Both pedals should present considerable resistance.
If a difference greater than 51 mm (2 in.) occurs, see your John Deere
dealer.
If the pedals descend after reaching the point of
resistance, this indicates a leak at some point in the brake system.
See your John Deere dealer immediately. Solid resistance
and symmetry between the left- and right-hand pedal are fundamental
when applying emergency braking procedure, when the pedals are united
by locking pin (B).
