Collecting a Coolant Sample

Take care not to contaminate the coolant. Clean the area around the components before performing any service.

  1. Attach one end of hose (A) to body of pump (B) and tighten nut (C).

  2. Install bottle (D) by turning it clockwise.

End of hose (A) must have a minimum length "X" inside bottle (D) to avoid it enters entirely.

Keep cover of bottle (D) inside the supplied bag to avoid its contamination.

  3. Insert hose (A) into filler neck (E) of coolant recovery tank so that the hose is at 50 mm (1.9 in.) from coolant level.

    CQ298609-UN-06DEC13

Handle hose (A) with care to avoid it enters in contact with any tractor part and contaminates the coolant.

  4. Operate pump manually to permit suction of coolant. If coolant is not sucked in, insert hose (A) into filler neck (E) of coolant recovery tank.

Never turn the pump (B) upside down, keep it in an upright position. Failure to observe this procedure may cause contamination.

  5. When bottle (A) is full, loosen nut (B) for air to enter and the coolant stops from being sucked into the bottle.

  6. Remove hose from coolant recovery tank.

Be very careful when removing the hose so you do not spill any coolant on the ground.

  7. Remove the bottle (A) from the pump body by turning it counterclockwise.

After removing the bottle (A), store the pump properly, ensuring it's no contamination.

  8. Cap the bottle (A).

  9. With pump (A) in vertical position, push hose (B) downward and clean up any traces of coolant.

  10. Turn pump (A) by 180°m clean up any traces of coolant again.

  11. Pull out hose (B) from pump (A).

  12. Properly dispose of hose (A) in a container and also any other material that was contaminated with coolant during the sampling procedure.

  13. Fill in form (B) with the required data and put it into bag (C).

  14. Place bottle (D) into bag (C) so that it is facing up (standing).
