Bleeding Fuel System
X9811-UN-23AUG88
Pressurized fluid, when released, can penetrate skin causing
serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting
hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying
pressure. Search for leaks using a piece of cardboard. Protect hands
and body from high pressure fluids. If an accident occurs,
see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be
surgically removed within a few hours.
Each time the fuel system is opened for servicing (lines
disconnected or filters removed) it is necessary to bleed the system.
To prevent damage to the injection pump, DO NOT try
to start the engine while carrying out fuel system bleeding procedure.
