Battery Charge

Maintain battery completely charged, especially in cold climate.

Gas emitted by battery is explosive, thus avoid open flames and sparks close to the battery.

1. With battery charger switched off, connect positive charger cable (+) to positive battery post (+).
2. Connect negative battery charger cable (-) to tractor ground point on frame distant from battery.
3. Switch on charger and charge battery following usage instructions of the charger and the battery manufacturer.
4. Check if battery is totally charged by using a multimeter.
5. If battery is totally charged, switch off battery charger before disconnecting it. Remove negative cable (-) from tractor frame first, then remove positive cable (+).
6. If battery is not sufficiently charged, leave charger connected for some more time and if the battery still does not charge, replace it with a new original John Deere battery.
