  1. Verify tire calibration pressure. To do so, consult (Tire Calibration Pressure Chart, in Section—Ballasting). Lower tires to the ground.
  2. Open all openings closed for storage.
  3. Install battery.
  4. Adjust engine fan belt tension. 5078E, 5085E and 5090E Tractors are equipped with automatic belt tensioner. On 5075E Tractors perform adjustment by moving alternator position.
  5. Unlock clutch pedal.
  6. Check engine oil level, transmission/hydraulic system and coolant oil levels. Complete if necessary.
  7. Drain a small quantity of fuel from tank to remove possible condensation build-up.
  8. Refill fuel tank.
  9. Follow recommended service procedures for 10, 50, 250, 500, 600 and 750 hours indicated in Service—Section.
  10. Turn starter switch to ON position (do not start engine at this point). Check all indicators on instrument panel, see (Tractor Controls, in Section Controls and Instruments). Verify operation of headlights, lights and turn-signal lights, see (Lights Section).
  11. For 5075E Tractors with Bosch A4000 injection pump1, make sure fuel shut-off knob (B) is in fuel shut-off position. If it is not, pull fuel shut-off knob (B) backward and then push it upward until it is in position shown.
  12. Pull hand throttle (A) fully back and run engine until oil pressure increases.
