Changing Front Axle Final Drives Oil Level (4WD Axle—Dana)

Clean all drain plugs before removing them.

Change oil while it is still warm immediately after operating the tractor.

  1. Park tractor on level terrain.

    A - Plug

    B - Washer


  2. Rotate wheel so that plug (A) is at lower position.

  3. Place a suitable container under plug (A).

  4. Remove plug (A) and washer (B) and drain all oil.

  5. Rotate wheel until plug (A) is at horizontal position.

  6. Add specified oil through plug (A). Add oil until it spills out through the plug.

  7. Install plug (A) and washer (B). Tighten to the specified torque.
    Plug (A)Torque85—95 N·m (62.7—70 lb ft)

  8. Repeat the procedure with the other final drive.
