A - Cap

B - Coolant Recovery Tank

CAUTION: Avoid injury from hot, spraying fluid. Add make-up coolant through the coolant recovery tank, not directly to the radiator. If cap must be removed, do not remove when engine is hot. SHUT OFF engine and wait until cap is cool enough to touch with bare hands. Slowly loosen cap to relieve pressure before removing completely.

IMPORTANT: Periodically check coolant level in recovery tank.

  1. Park tractor on level ground and SHUT OFF engine. Remove key.

  2. Allow engine to cool.

  3. Raise hood and check level in coolant recovery tank (B), BEFORE starting tractor.

  4. NOTE: Coolant level should be checked when engine is COOL.

If coolant level is below “MIN” mark, remove cap (A) and add coolant to recovery tank to bring level between “MIN” and “MAX” mark. (See Diesel Engine Coolant in section 100 Fuel, Lubricants, and Coolant.)

NOTE: Coolant is replaced after three years or every 3000 hours thereafter. It can be extended to five years or every 4500 hours thereafter if coolant is checked annually and serviced using COOL-GARD™ II.

  5. Lower hood.
