Driving on Public Roads

Install and use all safety lights and devices necessary to assure safe operation and local compliance. Keep these safety items in good condition. Replace missing or damaged parts immediately.

Before driving on public roads, check state and local laws that may apply to tractors, self-propelled machines, and towed equipment. Additional lights, mirrors, SMV emblems, or reflectors may be required.

1. Retract extendible dipperstick, if equipped, and install locking pin.

causym CAUTION: Prevent possible injury form unexpected machine movement. Use a seat belt when you operate the machine.

2. Fasten seat belt.

3. Start engine.

4. Retract dipperstick and curl bucket.

5. Raise backhoe boom, move it to center. Set boom lock and install swing lock pin.

6. Raise stabilizers.

7. Turn seat to face front of machine.

8. Connect left and right brake pedals together.

9. Raise loader bucket off ground and roll bucket back.

10. Cycle park brake switch ON/OFF to release park brake.
