Draining the Cooling System (S.N. -830204)

causym CAUTION: Explosive release of fluids from pressurized cooling system can cause serious burns.

Shut off engine. Only remove filler cap when cool enough to touch with bare hands. Slowly loosen cap to first stop to relieve pressure before removing completely.

Every 2 years, drain and flush cooling system using commercial products and refill with new coolant. Replace thermostats.

1. Remove radiator cap to release pressure only after engine is cool.

2. Remove front grille.

3. Lift rubber baffle (A) up to access radiator drain cock (B).

4. Connect a hose to radiator drain cock.

5. Turn drain cock counterclockwise to open valve and drain coolant.

6. Remove drain plug (A) to drain engine block.
