Bleeding Brakes (S.N. -872256)
NOTE:
Air will be gravity bled from the brake system through the brake valve without use of bleed screws.
1.
Set park brake.
2.
Lock brake pedals together to bleed both brakes at the same time.
3.
Run engine at slow idle.
4.
Pump the brake pedal slowly 12 times.
5.
Release brake pedal completely and wait a minimum of 10 seconds.
CAUTION:
Prevent possible personal injury from unexpected machine movement. DO NOT operate machine if pedal travel exceeds 115 mm (4-1/2 in.). Operating machine with excessive brake travel could cause brakes not to stop machine when brakes are first applied.
6.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until a firm pedal is obtained within 115 mm (4-1/2 in.) of pedal travel after a 10 second wait cycle. Brakes will continue to self bleed as you use machine, and pedal firmness should improve.
If pedal travel is more than 115 mm (4-1/2 in.), brake stop screws are set too loose. See your authorized dealer.
If unable to obtain firm brake pedal, inspect lines and connections for leakage. If no leaks, see your authorized dealer.
