Driving on Public Roads

Know local laws and ordinances affecting driving on highways. Make sure slow-moving vehicle emblem, mirrors, lights, and reflectors are in place and functioning properly.

Before driving:

causym CAUTION: Use a seat belt to minimize chance of injury from an accident such as an overturn.

1. Fasten seat belt.

2. Install extendible dipperstick locking pin, if equipped. Always lower backhoe boom to ground to install the extendible dipperstick locking pin.

3. Raise backhoe boom, curl bucket, and lower dipperstick.

4. Swing backhoe boom to centered position.

5. Engage boom lock and install swing lock pin.

6. Raise stabilizers.

7. Turn seat to face front of machine.

8. Engage brake pedal locking bar (A) to lock left and right brake pedals (B and C) together.

9. Raise loader bucket approximately 40 cm (16 in.) off ground and roll bucket back.
