Change Transmission and Torque Converter Oil and Filter

NOTE: Only approximately 8.0-8.5 L of oil will drain.

It is intended that the remainder of oil will remain in the cooler and torque converter.

NOTE: Dispose of waste oil properly.

1. Remove transmission drain plug (A) from bottom of transmission and drain oil into suitable container.

Specification

Powershift Transmission Oil -Capacity 15 L (16 qt)

2. Change transmission oil filter (B). (See Change Transmission Oil Filter in this chapter.)

3. Install drain plug.

4. Turn handle of transmission dipstick (C) counterclockwise and remove. Fill transmission with oil through dipstick tube. (See Fuels and Lubricants chapter for proper type of oil.)

5. Start engine and run at slow idle for three minutes.

6. With engine running at slow idle, check oil level on transmission dipstick. If oil is not within operating range, add oil. (See Fuels and Lubricants chapter.)

7. Install transmission dipstick and turn handle clockwise to tighten.
