Inspect Serpentine Belt
NOTE:
Solid lines in diagram indicate with air conditioning; dashed lines indicate without air conditioning.
1.
Check belt regularly for wear, especially for cracks at the bottom of grooves and for frayed edges.
2.
If necessary, replace belt.
3.
Place the drive of a 1/2 in. drive ratchet in square hole of tension adjuster (G). Turn ratchet counterclockwise to pull tension adjuster assembly away from belt, releasing belt tension.
4.
Hold tension adjuster assembly away from belt while removing old belt and installing new belt.
5.
Slowly turn ratchet clockwise to place tension adjuster assembly against new belt. Tension is automatically adjusted.
6.
Remove ratchet from assembly.
