The monitor has a display window, two gauges, two service indicators, and 12 function indicators. The monitor displays service codes sent by the transmission controller.
The display monitor has three modes of operation:

KEY OFF MODE: With battery disconnect switch ON and key OFF, pressing the SELECT button displays information on the monitor display. Repeatedly pressing the SELECT button cycles the display between two display modes. Pressing and holding the SELECT button cycles between modes at four second intervals. gauge and fuel tank level gauge remain backlit while the SELECT button and monitor display are in use. When the SELECT button is released, unswitched power is removed and information is no longer displayed.

BULB CHECK MODE: With battery disconnect switch ON and the engine not running, turning the key switch ON puts the display monitor in bulb check mode. In this mode, the monitor alarm sounds and all indicator lights glow, including stop indicator (L) and service required indicator (M). Bulb check mode lasts five seconds, to allow the operator time to verify that all display elements are functional.
