Replace Engine Torsional Damper
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT use a jaw-type puller to remove torsional damper. Damage could result to the damper. Never apply thrust on outer ring of damper. Do not drop or hammer on damper.
IMPORTANT:
See your John Deere dealer for correct tools.
1.
Remove pulley from damper, if equipped (shown removed).
2.
Remove cap screw (A) and washer securing damper to crankshaft.
3.
Install JDG787 Thread Protector (B) in nose of crankshaft.
CAUTION:
Plan a safe handling procedure to avoid personal injury or damage to damper.
4.
Remove damper from crankshaft using JDG721 Hub Puller (A).
NOTE:
D01207AA (OTC518) Puller Set (not shown) may also be used to remove damper.
5.
Install damper.
6.
Install thread protector, washer and cap screw.
7.
Install pulley.
