Change Engine Oil and Replace Filter

IMPORTANT: If fuel sulphur content exceeds 0.5 percent, change engine oil at 1/2 the normal interval.

NOTE: Change oil if engine has not run 250 hours before the season changes.

1. Run engine to warm oil.

2. Park machine on a level surface.

3. Lower equipment to ground.

4. Move FNR lever to neutral (N). Engage neutral lock.

causym CAUTION: Prevent possible injury from unexpected machine movement. Never rely on FNR lever alone to keep machine from moving. Machine can unexpectedly roll or move under power, resulting in death or serious injury. Always turn engine off or push park brake switch to ON to hold machine.

5. Push park brake switch to ON.

6. Turn key switch to STOP.

7. Remove cap from oil pan drain (A).

NOTE: Drain hose is stored in toolbox on left side of cab.

NOTE: As hose is tightened on drain, the valve automatically opens and oil will begin to drain.

8. Attach drain hose (A) to drain valve. Allow oil to drain into a container. Dispose of waste oil properly.

9. Remove drain hose.

10. Install drain cap.

11. Turn filter (A) counterclockwise to remove.

12. Clean mounting surface. Apply thin film of oil to gasket of new filter. Fill engine oil filter with engine oil.

NOTE: To assure proper lubrication at start-up, fill the engine oil filter with engine oil before installing filter.

13. Install new filter. Turn filter clockwise by hand until gasket touches mounting surface.

14. Tighten 1/2-1 turn more.

15. Tighten drain valve.

16. Remove filler cap (B).

17. Fill engine with oil. (See Fuels and Lubricants chapter.)

Specification

Engine Oil (with Filter) -Capacity 12 L (13 qt)

18. Install filler cap.

19. Start engine and run at slow idle.

20. Check that engine oil pressure light on monitor goes out and audible alarm stops immediately. If not, stop engine immediately and find cause.

21. Stop the engine. Check oil level. The engine is full when oil level is in the cross-hatched area (C) on the dipstick.

22. Check for any leakage at filter. Tighten filter only enough to stop leakage.
