Change Front Differential and Front Final Drives Oil

NOTE: Park machine on level ground.

1. Install boom lock.

2. Remove drain plug (A) on front differential. Allow oil to drain into a container. Dispose of waste oil properly.

3. Also, drain oil from final drives. (See Change Oil in Rear Final Drives in this chapter.)

NOTE: The front differential and front final drives are all one oil housing. Oil must also be drained from the final drives.

4. Install drain plug.

5. Remove fill plug (B). Add oil slowly through fill port.

6. Add oil through final drive drain and fill port (both sides) until level is to fill line (B).

IMPORTANT: To properly check oil level, make sure machine is on level ground. Allow 10 minutes for oil level to stabilize.

7. Check oil level. Oil should be up to bottom of differential fill port.

8. Install fill plug.
