Draining the Cooling System

causym CAUTION: Explosive release of fluids from pressurized cooling system can cause serious burns

Shut off engine. Only remove filler cap when cool enough to touch with bare hands. Slowly loosen cap to first stop to relieve pressure before removing completely.

1. Check upper (A) and lower (B) radiator hoses for cracks and leaks. Replace, if necessary.

2. Tighten clamps.

3. Check radiator, oil cooler and air to air cooler for dirt, damage, leaks, and loose or broken mountings. Clean radiator, oil cooler and air to air cooler.

4. Remove cap (C) from drain port on coolant pump.

NOTE: Drain hose is stored in toolbox on left side of cab.

NOTE: As hose is tightened on drain, the valve automatically opens and coolant will begin to drain.

5. Connect drain hose (D) on drain port on coolant pump. Allow coolant to drain into a container. Dispose of used coolant properly.
