Brake/Inching Pedal Linkage Adjustment

The following adjustment procedure consists of two stages-Initial Adjustments and Operating Adjustment. Make sure to perform the Initial Adjustments before proceeding to the Operating Adjustment.

Initial Adjustments

1. With the brake/inching pedal (C) at the fully raised position, measure distance (A) from top of pedal to floor plate (D).

Specification

Pedal Height -Distance  210 mm (8.26 in.)

2. Turn pedal height adjustment screw (E) (located between pedal arm and floor plate) as necessary to obtain proper measurement.

3. Depress brake/inching pedal until resistance is felt (brakes start to apply). Measure distance (B) from top of pedal (C) to floor plate (D).

Specification

Pedal Height -Distance 185 mm (7.28 in.)

4. If distance (B) is not to specification, loosen lock nut (F).

5. Adjust brake linkage until measurement is to specification. Tighten lock nut.

6. Measure distance between nuts (B).

Specification

Inching Valve Linkage -Distance between Nuts 50 mm (2.0 in.)
If distance between nuts (B) is not to specification, adjust as follows:

a. Loosen nuts (B). Remove retaining clips (A) to remove inching linkage.

b. Turn ball joints (C) until specified distance between nuts (B) is obtained.

c. Connect linkage and install retaining clips (A).

d. Tighten nuts (B).

e. Recheck distance between nuts (B). Repeat adjustment if necessary.

7. Loosen screw (A) until shaft (B) is free to turn.

8. Turn shaft (B) counterclockwise until stops (C) contact each other.

9. Tighten screw (A).
