1. Check shear blade gap and inspect blades on shear. Inspect saw blade, saw teeth, holders, and disc on saw (refer to your harvesting head manufacturer's instruction manual).

2. Check front and rear tire pressure. (See Check Tire Pressure, Section 55.)

3. Check battery connections.

4. Clean operator's station. Check fire extinguisher. Check pedals for freedom of movement. Charge pressurized water system with air. Check park brake for correct operation. Check air cleaner restriction indicator.

5. Check water separator.

6. Check engine oil level.

7. Check recovery tank coolant level (643H).

8. Check fuel level. Drain water from fuel tank. Clean fuel strainer.

9. Check coolant level in radiator (643H) or in surge tank (843H).

10. Check radiator, oil cooler and charge air cooler for debris. Clean as necessary.

11. Fill pressurized water tank.

12. Check hydraulic tank oil level.

13. Check air conditioning, condenser for debris. Clean as necessary.

FIRE PREVENTION: Clean machine of debris, especially engine compartment and driveline areas.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Check for worn or frayed wires and loose or corroded connections.

FRONT-MOUNTED EQUIPMENT, SHEET METAL, HARDWARE: Check for bent, broken, loose or missing parts.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM: Check for leaks, missing or loose clamps, kinked hoses, and lines or hoses that rub against each other or other parts.

LUBRICATION: Check lubrication points shown on Periodic Maintenance chart.

PROTECTIVE DEVICES: Check guards, shields, ROPS, covers, seat belt.

SAFETY: Walk around machine to clear all persons from machine area.
