Change Hydraulic Oil and Clean Suction Screens

1. Remove drain plug (1). Allow oil to drain into a container. Dispose of waste oil properly.

2. While oil is draining, change hydraulic filter. (See Maintenance-Every 500 Hours chapter.)

3. Install drain plug.

4. Remove cover (2) to remove suction screens.

5. Turn screens (3) counterclockwise to remove.

6. Clean screens in nonflammable solvent.

7. Install screens, new gasket, and cover.

8. Remove filler cap. Add oil. The hydraulic tank oil capacity is 254 L (67 gal). (See Fuels and Lubricants chapter.)

9. Install filler cap.

10. Start engine and run for 5 minutes. Stop engine.

11. Check for leaks around filter base. Tighten filter only enough to stop leaks. Check sight glasses (A and B) for oil level.
