Hydraulic Cab Tilt Procedure

causym CAUTION: See cab tilt label (1) located on cab tilt pump bracket for safety precautions before tilting cab or making under-cab adjustments.

IMPORTANT: Clear area of all objects before tilting cab.

1. Park machine on level ground, turn battery disconnect switch OFF, and set park brake.

causym CAUTION: Prevent unexpected machine movement and possible injury. Install frame locking pin before you work in frame pivot area.

NOTE: Safety cable (1) MUST be attached to cylinder pins and in good condition.

2. Install frame locking pin.

IMPORTANT: Prevent possible damage to cab doors. Damage to cab doors may result if the doors are open when tilting the cab. Close the cab doors when tilting the cab.

3. Open left front service door. Cab doors must be closed.

4. Remove cap screws (1). Remove lower right cab shield (2).

5. Remove pin locking cap screws (1).

causym CAUTION: Cable guards are spring loaded. Use care when removing.

6. Remove cap screws (A) and lock nuts (B). Remove cable guards (C) from cab roof (if equipped).

7. Check hand pump oil level at reservoir at fill plug (1). (See Fuels and Lubricants section.)

NOTE: Pump handle is stored along side front left pillar of engine compartment.

8. Install pump handle (1).

9. Turn hand pump valve lever to raise position.

NOTE: If pump operation is slow and spongy, air may be present in system.

10. Operate hand pump using full strokes.

NOTE: Mark location of shims to aid in assembly.

11. When weight of cab is removed from left rear pin, remove pin (1) and shims, and continue pumping.

12. When weight of cab is removed from left front pin, remove pin (2) and shims, and continue pumping.

13. When the cab is fully tilted, remove handle and store.

14. To lower cab, position pump selector lever to lower position.

15. Operate pump using full strokes.

16. When cab reaches lowered position, align left front pin and install pin and shims.

17. Pump again until left rear pin aligns and install pin and shims.

18. After pins are in place and secured, make sure cab load is off the cab tilt cylinder by checking that the cylinder swivels freely by hand.

19. Install pin locking cap screws. Tighten to specification.

Specification

Pin Locking Cap Screw -Torque 68 Nm (50 lb-ft)

20. Install bottom right cab shield.

21. Attach cable guards.
