Lower Boom with Engine Stopped
CAUTION:
To avoid injury from escaping fluid under pressure, never loosen boom manual lower needle valve more than 4 turns from closed position as valve may come out of housing. Tighten valve and nut before applying pressure.
CAUTION:
Prevent possible injury from unexpected machine movement. Clear all persons from the area when lowering the boom with the engine stopped. Remove the cover over the main control valve. Loosen the circuit relief valve slowly, DO NOT remove circuit relief valve.
1.
Loosen lock nut (A) on the boom head end circuit relief valve.
2.
Mark the position of the circuit relief adjusting screw (B) so the circuit relief valve can be readjusted after the boom is down.
3.
Slowly turn circuit relief adjusting screw out until boom starts to lower.
4.
After boom has been lowered, reset adjusting screw to original position and tighten lock nut.
