Replace Hydraulic Valve Return Oil Filter

NOTE: Hold a container under filter to allow excess oil to drain into container when replacing filter. Dispose of waste oil properly.

1. Turn filter (1) counterclockwise to remove.

2. Clean mounting surface. Apply thin film of oil to gasket of new filter.

3. Install new filter. Turn filter clockwise by hand until gasket touches mounting surface.

4. Tighten filter one full turn more.

5. Start the engine and run for 5 minutes. Cycle boom, arm, and head functions. Stop engine.

NOTE: If there is excessive leakage, see your John Deere dealer.

6. Check for any leakage at filter. Tighten filter only enough to stop leaks.

7. Check hydraulic oil level.
