Starting the Engine

IMPORTANT: If either hydraulic tank shut-off valve (A) is closed, starter will not operate.

1. Remove secondary exit window lock pins so exit window may be opened from outside the cab.

2. Store the pins on the hook next to the key switch

3. Fasten seat belt.

4. Move armrest down to RUN position.

5. Move engine speed control knob to 1/3 speed position (depress center button and raise or lower knob).

6. Sound horn.

IMPORTANT: Never operate starter motor for more than 20 seconds at a time. IF engine fails to start after two or three tries, return key switch to OFF. Wait for about 2 minutes, then try again.

After a false start, DO NOT turn key switch until engine stops or starter may be damaged.

Engine will not start by towing or pushing. Permanent damage to undercarriage will result.

7. Turn key switch to START position. Do not crank engine more than 20 seconds. Wait 10 seconds before trying again. If engine fails to start after two or three tries, return key switch to OFF and wait 2 minutes before trying again.

8. Operate machine at 1/2 speed and at less than normal work load until engine is at operating temperature.
