NOTE:
Controls and switches must be in the positions described before starting engine.

With manual shift transmission: Move gearshift lever (A) and TCL (B) levers to neutral.
With power shift transmission: Move TCL (B) lever/range lever to N.

Engage park brake using switch (C).
IMPORTANT:
To avoid engine damage, never start engine with engine speed control at high speed.

Move engine speed control to 1/3 speed.
NOTE:
For machines equipped with engine speed control knob (D), turn knob to 1/3 speed.
IMPORTANT:
Do not operate starter more than 15 seconds at a time or it may be damaged. If engine does not start, wait at least two minutes before trying again. If engine does not start in four attempts, refer to Troubleshooting chapter.

Turn key switch clockwise until engine starts, then release key. If engine does not start after 15 seconds, wait two minutes before trying again.
7.
After engine is warm and has run for a five-minute warm-up period, allow engine to return to slow idle. Use speed control pedal to adjust engine idle during operation.
