Check Engine Oil Level
IMPORTANT:
Prevent possible engine damage. DO NOT run engine when oil level is below the ADD mark.
The most accurate oil level reading is obtained when engine is cold before operation.
1.
Park machine on a level surface, stop engine, and engage park brake.
2.
Remove dipstick (A) and check oil level.
-
BEFORE THE ENGINE IS STARTED: Engine is full when oil level is within crosshatched area (C). It is acceptable to run engine as long as oil level is above the ADD mark.
-
AFTER THE ENGINE HAS BEEN RUN: Allow oil to drain into oil pan for 10 minutes before checking the oil level. Ten minutes after shutdown, oil level must be above the ADD mark.
3.
Remove filler cap (B) and add oil as necessary. See Diesel Engine Oil. (Section 3-1.)
