Prepare Machine for Storage
1.
Repair worn or damaged parts. Install new parts if necessary.
2.
Clean primary air cleaner.
3.
Wash the machine.
4.
On track machines, apply waste oil to track chains. Run machine back and forth several times. Park machine on a hard surface to prevent tracks from freezing to ground.
5.
On machines with tires, if possible, raise machine high enough so tires do not touch the ground. If not, park on a hard surface to prevent tires from freezing to ground.
6.
Store machine in a dry, protected place. If stored outside, cover with a waterproof material.
IMPORTANT:
LPS 3 Rust Inhibitor can destroy painted finish. DO NOT spray LPS 3 Rust Inhibitor on painted areas.
7.
Retract all hydraulic cylinders, if possible. Coat exposed cylinder rods with LPS
®
3 Rust Inhibitor.
8.
Place a "DO NOT OPERATE" tag in an obvious place in the operator's station.
9.
Lubricate all grease points.
10.
Remove batteries.
11.
Remove seat cushion and other perishable items.
12.
Remove keys, and lock all covers and doors.
