Lubricating PTO Driveshaft Universal Joints

  1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety Section.)

    Unlock and open the service hatch (A) on the machine.


  3. Rotate the PTO drive shaft by hand until the grease fittings (B) are facing upwards.

  4. Place the grease gun on the grease fitting and pump gun until grease can be seen seeping from the inside of all four bearing caps on the inside of universal joint.

    Rotate the PTO drive shaft (C) by hand until the grease fitting inside the universal joint is visible through the hole (D) in the shield.


  6. Pump grease into the fitting until grease can be seen seeping from the bearing caps on the inside of universal joint.

  7. Close and lock machine service hatch.
