Removing and Installing Belt Shields

CAUTION: Avoid injury! Rotating parts can catch fingers, loose clothing, or long hair. Wait for engine and all moving parts to stop before leaving operator station to adjust or service machine.

NOTE: The procedure for removing and installing the belt shields is the same across all deck sizes.

  1. Rotate mower deck for service, or remove mower deck from machine.

    Remove six retaining rings (A) securing belt shield (B) to mower deck.


  3. Lift belt shield off the attaching studs.

  4. Install belt shield and insert six retaining rings (A).

  5. CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fingers and loose clothing can get caught in rotating parts. Do not operate machine without all shields installed.

    Replace or rotate mower deck for operation.
