Installing Ballast

CAUTION: Avoid injury! Machine can become unstable when operating with attachment. Ballast is required when the attachment is installed.

When the attachment is removed, also remove any ballast that was added to the machine.

Use only attachments and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

NOTE: Ballast is not included with this kit but is required for safe operation. Refer to chart for specific requirements and see your authorized John Deere dealer for ordering.

  1. TCT009688

    Add John Deere 19 kg (42 lb.) suitcase weights (A).

    • 3 weights used with 72-inch deck.
    • 4 weights used with 60-inch deck and 60-inch MOD decks..


  2. Install locking bar (B) and secure with spring locking pins (C).

  3. Place cover over weights.
