Adjusting Brake

NOTE: Make sure that reel clutch is disengaged.

1. 
   TCAL41677-UN-22JAN13

   Loosen lock nuts (A) holding cable in handlebar.

2. Shorten ferrule length (B).

3. IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Do not over-tighten lock nuts. Excess torque may damage threads on ferrule body.

   Tighten lock nuts to specifications.

   Item	Measurement	Specification
   Brake Cable Jam Nuts	Torque	96 lb.-in. (11 N·m)

4. Check operation of park brake.

5. If adjustment is needed, do the following:

   1.

      Remove belt cover (C).

   ---

   
   

   2. 
      TCAL41679-UN-22JAN13

      Loosen lock nuts (D) holding brake cable near the brake.

   3. Shorten ferrule length (E).

   4. Tighten lock nuts (D) to specifications.

      Item	Measurement	Specification
      Brake Cable Jam Nuts	Torque	96 lb.-in. (11 N·m)

   5. Check operation of park brake.

   6. If still not properly adjusted, replace the brake band.

   7. Install belt cover and tighten bolt.
