Install Deflector (60 and 72 in. Side Discharge)

CAUTION: Avoid injury! Components are installed under spring tension. Wear eye protection and use proper tools when installing and removing components with spring tension.

   Remove pivot pin (A) from the deflector.

   Locate the chute hinge spring (B) from the bag of parts. Install both ends of the spring through the slots in the deflector chute as shown. The legs of the spring must point downward.

   Position the deflector chute (C) next to the mower deck discharge opening with the spring body aligned with the chute pivot holes. Place the rounded tip (D) of the spring onto the top of the mower deck, and slide it through the notch (E) in the mower deck reinforcement bracket.

   Insert the chute pivot pin (F) through the front chute pivot (G), front deck support (H), chute spring (I), middle chute pivot (J), rear deck support (K), and rear chute pivot (L).

   Install spring pin (M) (from the bag of parts) into the hole in the end of the discharge chute hinge pin. Drive pin into place using a drift and hammer.
