Operating The Aerator

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Aeration head must be fully raised before starting engine or machine travel.

  1. Make sure that the park brake is locked.

  2. Put the MANUAL/AUTOMATIC switch into the AUTOMATIC position.

  3. Select throttle solenoid operation depending on turf application.

  4. Turn key to on position.

  5. Raise the aeration head completely to rotate the transport stops at both sides of the machine forward to rest on the frame.

  6. Start engine.

  7. CAUTION: Avoid injury! Machine movement may speed up as it is being turned. if forward or reverse travel is started with throttle speed set at high rpm, machine movement starts quickly.

    • Avoid sharp turns in transport speed.
    • Begin machine travel with throttle at low rpm Adjust rpm after machine begins travel.
    • Use caution when maneuvering machine is restricted areas.

    Set throttle at low position to start machine travel.

  8. Select desired travel gear by rotating shift lever until aligned with appropriate gear number.

  9. Unlock the park brake by rotating the lever towards engine.

  10. Pull the operator presence bail down and hold firmly against the handle bar.

  11. IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Unlock park brake before engaging clutch lever to begin forward motion. Alarm sounds if travel clutch is engaged while park brake is locked. If machine travels with brake locked, damage to brake occurs.

    Engage the ground drive by rotating the travel clutch lever (A) towards the operator.



  12. IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Never lower the aeration head if the engine is running, without the unit being in motion and on a surface that can be aerated.

    Put engine at full throttle.

    To engage the aeration mechanism, push aerator engagement switch (B) in the direction of the aeration head. The aeration head lowers and tines start in motion.
