Replacing Fuel Filter

CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable:

  • Do not smoke while handling fuel.
  • Keep fuel away from flames or sparks.
  • Shut off engine before servicing.
  • Cool engine before servicing.
  • Work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Clean up spilled fuel immediately.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! There is no fuel shutoff valve. Wait until fuel is low before replacing filter or be prepared to drain fuel from fuel line into a safe container when disconnecting filter.

    Use pliers to loosen and slide hose clamps (A) away from filter (B).



  2. Disconnect hoses from filter and allow excess fuel to drain into an appropriate container.

  3. Remove old filter and install new John Deere filter.

  4. Use pliers to slide clamps to secure hose ends to filter.
