Servicing Spark Plugs
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Touching hot surfaces can burn skin.
The engine, components, and fluids are hot if the engine has been
running. Allow the engine to cool before servicing or working near
the engine and components.
NOTE: Check the spark plugs every 200 operating hours clean
and replace if necessary.

Clean the area around the spark plugs before removing.

Turn key to off position.

Disconnect spark plug wires (A).

Remove spark plug using a spark plug socket.

Clean spark plug carefully with a wire brush.

Inspect spark plug for:

Cracked porcelain.
-
Pitted or damaged electrodes.
-
Other wear or damage.

Replace spark plug as necessary.

Check plug gap with a wire feeler gauge.
-
Gap (B) must be set to specification.

To change gap, move the outer electrode.

Install and tighten spark plug. Tighten plug to specification.
