Removing Tine Drive Belt Pulleys
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Aeration head flex-links are timed.
Timing marks (A) on both flywheel pulleys must line up with reinforcement
bracket edges (B) when assembled.
NOTE: To complete the removal of the pulleys, two 3/4 x 3-1/2
in. machine bolts with nuts and lock washers are required. Bolts holding connecting rods to belt pulleys are left-hand threaded.
Refer to the decal on the arm indicating direction of thread.

Remove the bolts (C) and washers securing the connecting rods
to the pulley.

Remove the connecting rods (D) on both sides of the pulleys.

Loosen the nut (E) securing the belt tensioner sheave and
remove the belt from the belt pulley.

Place a metal bar (F) underneath the mount for the connecting
rod to prevent the belt pulley from rotating while performing the
next step.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Decals on each connecting rod indicate
direction of turn when removing the pulley.

Use a pipe wrench to loosen the pulley on the opposite side
where the pipe is placed. Place wrench on bushing (G) welded to pulley.
Unthread the pulley and remove.

Remove the bar used to hold the pulley in place.

Install two 3/4 x 3-1/2 in. machine bolts (H) with lock washers
and nuts to the remaining pulley through existing holes in pulley.

Tighten them equally to apply pressure to the center plate.
As the bolts are tightened, the pulley and pulley shaft assembly is
forced from the center plate (I).

Place the removed pulley and shaft assembly in a vise. Remove
the shaft from the pulley using a pipe wrench.

Remove snap ring and bearing from machine. Perform necessary
service.
