Hole quality is poor.	Adjust tine depth. Select correct tine for application. Allow break-in time for new tines. Adjust engine speed. Turf guard is not making proper contact with the ground. Check drive chain tension.
Hole depth incorrect.	Adjust tine depth. Replace tines.
Hole spacing is too close (front to back).	Check drive belt tension. Incorrect gear selected.
Hole spacing is too wide (front to back).	Incorrect gear selected.
Machine is bouncing and tines are not penetrating to the full depth.	Check tire pressure. If soil is hardpan or compacted, measure depth of penetration and adjust the depth control to the measured amount.
