Testing Neutral Switch

Operator on seat.
-
Lock park brake.
-
Move the gearshift lever to the “R” (reverse) position.

Turn the key switch to the start position.

Engine must not crank.

Repeat starting procedure with shift lever in each gear.

Engine must not crank.

Move the gearshift lever to the neutral position.
-
Turn the key switch to the start position.
Result: Engine should crank. If the
engine should start with the gearshift lever in any position other
than the neutral position, there is a problem with the safety interlock
circuit. See your authorized dealer.
