Testing Auxiliary Hydraulic System Switch

CAUTION: Avoid injury! The PTO interlock switch is a safety feature designed to prevent engine start-up when the PTO control lever is in the on position. The interlock eliminates supply pressure to the auxiliary quick couplers. Never operate the vehicle if the PTO interlock system is defective or disconnected. Sudden, unexpected operation of an auxiliary attachment could occur during vehicle start-up.

NOTE: Make sure that no attachments are connected to the auxiliary hydraulic quick couplers at the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Operator on seat.

  2. Lock park brake.

  3. Move the gearshift lever to the neutral position.

  4. Pull up hydraulic PTO lever to the ON position.

  5. Turn the key switch to the start position.

Result: Engine must not start. If the engine starts, there is a problem with the safety interlock circuit. See your authorized dealer.
