Servicing Fuel Filter Sediment Bowl (Diesel Models)

CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable:

• Do not smoke while handling fuel.

• Keep fuel away from flames or sparks.

• Shut off engine before servicing.

• Cool engine before servicing.

• Work in a well-ventilated area.

• Clean up spilled fuel immediately.


Checking Sediment Bowl

  1. Raise attachment to service position. (See Using the Lift Cylinder Safety Support in the Safety section.)

  2. Park vehicle safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section.)

    Visually check for water and deposits in the sediment bowl (A).



  4. If necessary, clean bowl and replace filter.


Cleaning and Replacing Sediment Bowl

  1. Close fuel shutoff valve (B).

  2. Turn collar (C) to remove bowl and filter. Discard filter.

  3. Clean bowl.

  4. Install new filter and bowl.

  5. Tighten collar.

  6. Open fuel shutoff valve.

  7. Lower attachment.
