Clean Transmission Oil Strainer

CAUTION: Avoid injury! Use caution when cleaning the oil strainer. During periods of machine operation, the transmission oil can get hot.

NOTE: Routinely clean strainer when changing the transmission oil and filter. Strainer must be serviced when the transmission is empty.

  1. Change transmission oil and filter.

    Locate strainer housing (A) on the left side of vehicle.



  3. NOTE: Use drain pan to catch dripping oil.

    Loosen adjustable hose clamp (B).



  4. Remove hydraulic line (C) from rubber hose (D).

  5. Loosen nut (E) and remove differential cable.

  6. Loosen and remove three hex bolts (F).

  7. Remove strainer housing and strainer.

    Clean strainer (G) with solvent or mineral spirits and allow to dry.



  9. Install strainer into the strainer housing.

  10. Replace strainer housing gasket if needed.

  11. Install strainer housing.

  12. Install and tighten three hex bolts.

  13. Install rubber hose onto hydraulic line.

  14. Tighten adjustable hose clamp.

  15. Install differential cable and tighten nut.
